On December 3rd, 2007 our son, Michael, was placed in our arms. He was 14 months old and we were in Changsha, China. Three years and three days later, his sister, Kailey, joined our growing family in Guangzhou, China. Thanks to all of you that follow our journey.

A Buddhist temple and a pearl market

Ok, Amazing Race fans. What did the contestants have to do with this object? Email or facebook me, if you know. Did you know that they have Amazing Race Asia. They do and it's on 24/7.

At the temple above Kailey and I participated in a traditional blessing of the children. No Mom, I'm not converting, just participating in a local custom. She sat very still for it. Michael didn't care to be blessed. He and Daddy waited outside. No photos in the temple. Also, you are not to point at Budda. The temple is to be entered left foot first and exited right foot first.

The same temple here. It is only 1500 years old.

On the temple grounds.

Our second guide, Shirley, with FTIA. Michael makes friends with everyone. He has Ike wrapped around his little finger and is working on Shirley now.

All of those white things are pearls. Thousands of them. Kailey is all set with pearl earrings for the next 80 years.

The traffic. Our bus dove across three lanes of traffic just to be cut off by another bus before we made a Uturn.
