On December 3rd, 2007 our son, Michael, was placed in our arms. He was 14 months old and we were in Changsha, China. Three years and three days later, his sister, Kailey, joined our growing family in Guangzhou, China. Thanks to all of you that follow our journey.

Toys - Goats or Sheep?

We have purchased the kids the two most annoying toys on the planet. They both sing LOUDLY in Chinese. Michael's is of course a car.

Apparently there is a very popular cartoon here for the preschool crowd that is about goats, well, they look like sheep to me, but I was told they are goats. Kailey lights up when she sees them. We bought her this sheep/goat cell phone and some of the cookies. I'm going to have to acquire some more goat toys on the sly for a Christmas present. That will make her face light up for sure. They also have it on DVD.

When we insisted that she not take the cell phone to dinner, she had a total meltdown. The only other time she has acted like that has been at bedtime. (I've since learned to set her in front of the TV and she'll drift right off).

She is going to learn english in no time. She just said "what?" to Michael. Earlier she waved and said "bye bye" to a store clerk.
