Here she is at breakfast. Have you ever seen anyone so happy over an apple slice? The girl loves to eat. The dining room at the White Swan is always full of adoptive familes. Parents everywhere with thier new babies/kids. All Americans have to complete the process here in Guangzhou and this is one of the most popular hotels. Here special needs is the norm. Kids with pre surgery cleft, missing limbs, etc are all here. It's a special place to be and we all share our stories freely. What a blessing adoption is.
The adoption process is two parts. Yesterday was "gotcha" day or "family" day. Today is the adoption. They ask a few basic questions and she becomes our daughter. Here we both are signing the one billionth form of the process. The last picture is us with the registry official.
The ride to the office was fascinating as always. The shear quantity of people on the streets is nuts. They are everywhere, walking in the street, riding bikes (for transportation, not fun), transporting goods on carts. I've been trying to get a good pic of the quantity of stuff they can pull behind a bike. The chaos is not easily captured on film.
As I type I am trying tomato flavored potato chips. I try to be open minded but yuck, they just aren't for me.Michael is still enjoying being a big brother but the jealousy is starting to show a little more. Kailey is still calm and content but at nap time, she let me know that she was NOT interested in laying in the crib. She did drift right off to sleep once layed on the bed.
Our guide has been great. Tonight he is taking us back to the place with no sign for dinner. Yah! Good stuff.
