On December 3rd, 2007 our son, Michael, was placed in our arms. He was 14 months old and we were in Changsha, China. Three years and three days later, his sister, Kailey, joined our growing family in Guangzhou, China. Thanks to all of you that follow our journey.

The Consulate Appointment

Tuesday was our appointment with the US Consulate. Eight of our twelve families went on Monday and will be flying out tomorrow. The four families getting kids over 2 had to wait until Tuesday. This is the only picture of the proceedings as no cameras are allowed in. First up was a long line going through security and checking cameras. Then we sat in a very warm room for awhile. Someone spoke about the work they do at the consulate and how they most enjoy the adoptions work. Then we all participated in "The Oath", where we pledged that all of the information we had provided during the process was accurate. Afterwards, we were called to a window one by one, signed a form and that was that. Thursday our guides will pick up the newly adopted kids Chinese passports with American visas on them. They will become citizens upon arrival in the states. That will be in Chicago for our Kailey Wu.
