On December 3rd, 2007 our son, Michael, was placed in our arms. He was 14 months old and we were in Changsha, China. Three years and three days later, his sister, Kailey, joined our growing family in Guangzhou, China. Thanks to all of you that follow our journey.

Soon....

At 10:00 this morning we meet our guide to go to the provencial office to get our gal. We've spent the last year dilengtly, obsessively moving to this time and place, but now it's hard to know how to feel. Who is she? How will she adjust? How will Michael adjust? We are much less nervous this time. We've done this before, had a stranger thrust into our arms.

We are going in armed with M&Ms, gummies, suckers, a babydoll and strawberry shortcake doll. Surely, something will appeal to her, right?

I wonder what she is doing now. She has a two hour ride to get here so, surely, by now her morning routine has been disrupted and she is being told that today she is leaving. Peace to you sweet Kailey. We'll see you soon and we'll have candy.
